About the platform:

The platform houses a full product suite including sports betting, gaming, and player management and is aimed at online and retail operators, covering gaming services across different jurisdictions.


Job Purpose:

The Senior ETL Developer will report into the Head of Data, and be responsible for the design, development and documentation of the Data Migration ETL solution.

This role is a MySQL-native challenge, working in a highly regulated environment hosted in its own data center, where you will be working closely with the Infrastructure, DBA and Network teams.  You will move data from legacy systems to the Sharp Gaming platform.  You will deal with the specific security and privacy challenges associated with handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

We are looking for a talented and experienced MySQL Senior ETL Developer to be part of our Data Migration team, responsible both for building and maintaining the solution that transfers billions of rows of data, as well as the propagation of expertise throughout the team.


As e.near’s Senior ETL Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, and implement the solution that supports both batch operations of data transfer, and subsequent deltas.

• Translate data access, transformation, and movement requirements into functional requirements and mapping designs. 

• Ensure that all technical solutions are documented to the correct standard.

• Continually assess storage requirements, to ensure that physical capacity is available to support data loads. 

• Work closely with platform engineers and testers, to validate the success of the data migration and consistency between source and target data.

• Engage with the DataOps team around code standards, best practice and platform schemas.

• Have awareness of the GDPR regulatory constraints.

• Engage in peer code reviews with the team whilst maintaining a high standard of quality in your own work.


Required Skills:

• Experience in developing SQL databases in MySQL or MariaDB.

• Experience of troubleshooting performance issues in MySQL.

• Experience in building and maintaining documentation.

• Expert in reverse engineering existing solutions

• Able to work closely with software engineers to resolve issues.

• Experience of working on large data migrations projects.

• Ability to performance tune code to transform and move large volumes of data.

• Good communicator and technical coach



• Microsoft SSIS

• Microsoft .Net, C#

• Exposure to Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket (or any other git solution)

• Oracle 10g and PL/SQL would be advantageous.
