About the platform:

The platform houses a full product suite including sports betting, gaming, and player management and is aimed at online and retail operators, covering gaming services across different jurisdictions.

 

Job Purpose:

The ETL Developer will report into the Head of Data, and be responsible for the design, development, and documentation of part of the Data Migration ETL solution.

They are looking for a talented ETL developer to be part of their migration team (6 Developers, 1 PM, 1 Tech Lead, 1 BA, 3 QAs) responsible for building the solution that will transfer millions of customer records with data structures of varying complexity from several legacy platforms onto their Sharp Gaming one.

This role is mostly focused on the “E” of ETL, (Extraction) and involves different technologies that the developer needs to have previous experience of: SSIS, C#, SQL, Semi-structured data (Json, XML). C# is important as advanced functionalities (encryption, etc…) are developed in this language.

A can-do attitude, adaptability, capacity to learn and make things happen are key for this role, especially regarding making the source systems (SQL Server/Oracle) “talk” in SSIS. Support/Expertise on the target MySQL/MariaDB environment will be provided beyond the SQL proficiency but a previous experience of the MySQL ecosystem (Percona, MariaDB, clustering) would be huge bonus.

 

As e.near’s ETL Developer, you will:

• Analyze, design, build, and implement the data extraction from SQL Server and Oracle on Windows using SSIS and C#.

• Analyze design, build and implement the Transformation and Load into the target data estate based on MySQL technology (Percona, MariaDB, clustering).

• Ensure that all technical solutions and mapping designs are documented to the correct standard.

• Work closely with the software engineers, platform engineers and testers, to validate the success of the data migration and consistency between source and target data.

• Engage with the DataOps team around code standards, best practices, and platform schemas and storage requirements.

• Have awareness of the GDPR regulatory constraints.

• Engage in peer code reviews with the team whilst maintaining a high standard of quality in your own work.

• Be a self-starter and be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines as defined by the Project Manager in liaison with the Business, whom you will work with to ensure that the solution is achievable in the desired timeframe.

• Be analytical, pragmatic and proactive in deciphering data models often with scarce or incomplete documentation.

 

Required Skills:

• Experience in building and maintaining documentation

• Expert in reverse engineering existing solutions

• Experience of working on large data migrations projects.
