Senior Application Support (DevOps)

As e.near’s Senior Application Support, you will be:

• Be part of an international team

• Work and communicate effectively within a team


Required Skills:

• Minimal 5 years proven experience leading a support function team (preferably Finance industry)

• Experienced supporting java applications running on Unix environments (preferably Ubuntu)

• Flexible to support and work on-call (weekdays and some weekends)

• Experience coordinating / communicating during incidents until resolution

• Experienced writing retrospectives and working with relevant stakeholders to identify root cause for incidents

• Experienced with supporting and handling under pressure

• Understand devOps technologies and have worked within a Product Organization setup

• You have experience supporting and coordinating BCM exercises

• Proven experience with scripting and cloud technologies

• Experienced working with external vendors for outsourced services

• Willing to build strong working relationships with clients / IT colleagues

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing services / platform

• Willing to support team members during on-call periods to resolve incidents and execute deployments


The icing on the cake skills:

• Experienced supporting applications running on both Windows and Unix environments

• Experience supporting Sophis core positioning system would be beneficial (not mandatory)

• Understanding Infrastructure technologies

• Hands-on scripting and proven experience working with a batch management tool (e.g Control-M)

• Proven experience implementing monitoring solutions (preferably ElasticSearch / Nagios)

• Proven experience working with centralized logging solutions (Kibana would be preferable)

• GIT / JIRA / Confluence administration

• Incident handling / resolution management

• Hands on experience with devOps technologies such as docker / Kubernetes / Terraform / Ansible would be beneficial

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to handle stressful scenarios (both on technical and people perspective)

• Fluent in English, German is a bonus

• Flexible and eager to learn new technologies and will be comfortable to train employees where required
